University of Ruse The University of Ruse (RU) was established in Bulgaria in 1945 as independent state university. It fully accepts and supports the policy of the EU in the field of higher education and research in Europe. The Faculty of Transport with its “Research laboratory on ecological problems of engines” and “Transport Department” is carrying out research work concerning: reduction of exhaust emissions and fuel consumption mainly by using alternative fuels (hydrogen, CNG, LPG, biodiesel fuel, ethanol, etc.); transport technology and logistics; traffic engineering and control; traffic management and safety; information and communication technologies in transport.
